I am a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist licensed by the Ontario College of Nurses and certified by the Canadian Nurse Psychotherapist Association.

About:

I am a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist who provides psychotherapy to teens and adults at my Thorold office and online. I work closely with each client to individualize their therapy to their unique needs.

Since 2012, I have provided health services to the local and Indigenous community of Sandy Lake in Northern Ontario. Over the past four years, I served as a mental health case manager as well as a nurse counsellor for the Sandy Lake First Nation Health Authority, where I oversaw mental health care for over 300 clients and coordinated with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, primary care teams, and hospital staff.

As a registered nurse, I can provide my clients with an outlook that incorporates both medicine and psychotherapy. I have the understanding to help my clients cope with their mental health issues and understand how this can affect their physical being. I works with a clinical lens of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness, talk therapy, and trauma informed care. I am experienced in crisis intervention and grief therapy.

I have completed a diploma in nursing at the Mack School of Nursing at Niagara College in 1995. Subsequently, I completed advanced psychotherapy training and certification in psychotherapy through the Canadian Nurse Psychotherapist Association. I have also completed certification in Trauma Informed Care, Suicide Prevention, Risk Assessment & Management, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
